In view of the detection of azo dyes in export garments, the inspection and quarantine department reminds export garment enterprises that they must study the relevant laws and regulations in the export market and strengthen the control of the quality of raw materials.

The European Commission issued instructions in 2002 to prohibit the use of azo dyes to decompose 22 carcinogenic aromatic amines under reducing conditions. In 2003, it banned the use and sale of chromic azo dyes. In the same year, China issued the GB18401-2003 standard, and the detection limit for dyes that could be divided into 23 aromatic amines was 20ppm.

Inspection and quarantine personnel said that the export enterprises need to strengthen the management of suppliers of raw materials, establish a sound supplier selection and evaluation system, and, if necessary, provide relevant quality certificates or test reports to suppliers.

At the same time, enterprises should pay attention to the standard requirements of importing countries, raise vigilance in the export links, organize production and sales according to the standards, and avoid the occurrence of unqualified situations.

In daily management, export enterprises need to strengthen their integrity and self-discipline, and seriously confirm the consistency between the first sample clothing and the production of large ones.
