The latest authoritative statistics show that the total trade volume of China's textiles and clothing reached 97 billion 790 million US dollars in the first half of May this year, an increase of about 26%.

13, reporters learned from the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of commerce that before May, China's textile and clothing exports to the EU amounted to US $18 billion 360 million, an increase of about 28%.

The increase in unit prices of export commodities continued to expand.

Over the same period, China exported $12 billion 580 million to us textiles and clothing, an increase of 15%, and exported $10 billion 20 million to Japan, an increase of 23%.


According to the briefing, China's textile and clothing exports have been particularly prominent in emerging markets this year. ASEAN, Latin America and Oceania have become the fastest growing regions of China's textile and clothing exports.

In the first half of May this year, China's textile and clothing exports to ASEAN amounted to 7 billion 550 million US dollars, an increase of 43%. During the same period, China's exports to Latin America and Oceania increased by 60% and 29% respectively, all over the previous major traditional markets.


But it is worth noting that in May this year, China's textile and clothing trade volume was 22 billion 210 million US dollars, an increase of about 23%, of which exports grew by about 24%, and imports grew by about 11%.

Although exports continued to grow year-on-year, the growth rate slowed down compared with the previous period, an increase of 12.8 percentage points lower than that in April, and the growth momentum of imports during the same period also began to slow down. The year-on-year growth rate dropped 3.4 percentage points from April.


The national development and Reform Commission released a report on 12, also said that the main indicators of China's textile industry's production and exports have slowed down compared with the beginning of the year.

Looking ahead, although the domestic demand market is still expected to continue to achieve steady growth, the growth rate of China's textile industry's main economic indicators is expected to further slow down in the second half of this year.
