Recently, at the scene of "useless, root tracing to the source of national culture exhibition",

Fashion Designer

Marco kept talking to the visitors.

Coming to the interview center, facing reporters, she still spoke with great interest.

Reporter: at this Expo, when you launched the 42 national costume of the national cultural elements, when did you create and finish it? What are the few known stories behind it?

Mark: the theme of the show is "root tracing", which means searching for the root of culture and tracing the source of life.

This is my best interpretation of Guizhou's national culture.

The 42 sets of handmade costume works presented by the exhibition are based on the research of Guizhou folk handicraft for many years, which is elaborately designed with the help of Guizhou's embroidered mother.

The terraced stage, combined with modern holography and sound electricity technology, integrates national culture and modern art deeply, and arouses people's memory of ancestors' farming life through the daily life scenes such as spinning, weaving, dyeing and drying, field labor, folk song and dance, which have been accompanied by people for thousands of years.

And the understanding of national culture in harmony with nature.

Reporter: Why did you choose to introduce Taiwan's "Cloud Gate Dance Collection" modern dance director and co authoring? How do you think about the performance of Guizhou university students and Guizhou local minorities?

Marco

This exhibition is not a common T show. It is a combination of the elements of folk songs, dance, musical instruments and so on, which I have combined with the team which has been handed down in Guizhou for hundreds of years. It is created by many parties. It is through the combination of Guizhou's national elements and modern art to create stage works, so as to realize the visual enjoyment and Enlightenment of the national culture and the return to the essential life.

Later, we will do experiments like this. The purpose is to make modern people integrate into their traditions and develop them.

Reporter: we know that you have gone deep into Guizhou for ethnic culture research. What are the wonderful stories and experiences?

Mark: I look at it.

Guizhou

It is the second hometown.

At the beginning of 2000, I began to visit and study folk crafts in all parts of the country, and Guizhou, which had rich folk resources, had a great impact on the growth of my personal creation and the formation of design ideas.

I have studied folk handicrafts in Southeast Asia, India, Africa and other places, and Guizhou's exquisite national handicrafts have given me a unique impression.

Textile, embroidery, Miao embroidery, batik techniques and other national elements have brought rich inspiration to my creation.

I have been wandering around many villages and fields in Guizhou for many times to find creative inspiration, especially for the Miao costumes in Qiandongnan. I have felt the wisdom and philosophy of ancient life from the folk field survey, which not only nourishes the inspiration of the creators, but also shows me a truly sustainable green lifestyle, which provides a far-reaching model for the sustainable and harmonious development of human beings and natural ecosystems.

Reporter: you used to be the art director of "exception" of clothing brand. Now, you are focusing on the research and innovation of Chinese traditional handicrafts. What kind of research have you carried out and what are the creative ideas on the basis? What are the breakthroughs on the original basis?

Mark: in 2006, I created the "useless" design studio.

After the creation of the original eco brand "useless", the first group of works was released, including more than 20 sets of clothing, from tailoring, sewing, embroidery to plant dyeing, all hand-made.

The work expresses the respect for the mother of the earth and the farmers who have worked on the land for generations.

Now, I choose to return to the land, collect, collate and refine the folk craft skills, classify and sum up, and on the basis of this, create Chinese costumes suitable for the daily life of the Chinese people, so that the future of Chinese national arts will be better.

Fashion Tips Are Really Simple.

Why can fashion designers be so fashion, than we know how to wear them? In fact, they only pay more attention to fashion hot spots, and are willing to spend time studying. Maybe we all understand those matching machines, but why not use them in secondary schools?
