How Can Textile Products Sellers Fight At The End Of The Year?
This year, because of the US tax increase in China, the international trade environment in Britain has been stimulated by the United States. The off-season time of textile industry is much older than that of many years. Many factories have responded to Hugo net that this year's small purchasers are not placing orders. And fewer batches and lots of batches have become a common trend in the textile industry this year.
To this end, Hugo net interviewed Bu Haifeng, who has been engaged in foreign trade for many years in the home textile industry, to talk about the export trend of the textile industry this year, and how sellers should create explosive products and stock them in the year-end peak season.
Hugo net: what changes have been made in textile exports this year?
Bu Haifeng: because the international trade situation this year is really not very good, so that small purchasers do not place orders. But like our textile factories, we need to keep workers, so there are several orders. In addition, customers who have done some traditional orders in this year are more strict this year in terms of demand, delivery and timeliness, requiring factories to ensure a reasonable turnover cycle. For example, the customer asked us to deliver the goods at a certain time point, but it gave us a very short response time. For example, in August, we received a customer's order, and our customers wanted us to deliver the goods in time at the end of August, because in September 1st, the United States imposed tariffs on a number of new products. This is indeed a more difficult test for our production oriented factory. Because sudden orders will disrupt workers' scheduling.
Overall, this year's market is not very good, and the off-season is relatively long. Take our factory as an example, in addition to the large fluidity of workers, once they receive orders, they have to recruit workers temporarily, so this year they are almost in rush. In previous years, even if the trade situation was worse, our factory could guarantee the normal scheduling, and how many workers and shipments per month, but it was broken this year.
However, the total volume of orders this year has not changed much compared with previous years. Because in the future, depending on the volume and the number of batches, the trend will get worse and worse.
Hugo net: will there be any increment in the peak season this year?
Bu Haifeng: in my view, there is a great demand for home textile products, especially in the US market. The demand is considerable, and because Americans use household textiles habits, unlike our domestic habits, it may take three or four years to buy a set. Americans are accustomed to changing year by year, and even holidays may need to be replaced, partly because the price itself is not high, so demand is increasing and showing an upward trend. Another reason is attributed to the publicity and promotion of Amazon's coverage, other platforms and independent stations.
Hugo net: what is the trend of the industry this year?
Bu Haifeng: from the factory's view, this year's industry presents a trend, whether it is stocking, placing orders or enquiry, showing the trend of partial customization. In terms of stocking, a small volume and lots of batches are a trend at the present stage. The advantage of the seller is that the occupied capital flow, inventory and other aspects can be better controlled. For factories, other products may be dealt with through inventory, but home textile products can not be done, because the size of home textile products is varied, and each seller needs different patterns of flowers. Therefore, more stock can not solve the problem of fragmented small batch and multiple batches, which will cause greater pressure on the factory.
Hugo net: can sellers harvest profits in the peak season?
Bu Haifeng: the profit of home textile is not bad. For factories, the cost of production will rise and profits will be less and less. But for sellers, the profits are considerable.
Because there are a lot of speculation in the market now, for example, our factory makes a flower pattern and uses 120 grams of fabric and the same flower pattern. Other factories may use 105 grams or even 90 grams of fabric to imitate it, so that the cost can be greatly reduced and the price war is going to happen, which will cause a bad market cycle.
Under such circumstances, the profit of small and medium-sized sellers is even better than expected. Because their pricing and profit accounting are determined according to the original market conditions. Therefore, it depends on sellers to choose higher profits or word-of-mouth. If the seller wants to do well in the brand, the scale will be bigger and stronger, and the quality must be assured.
Hugo: what are the trends in textile products this season?
Bu Haifeng: this year, the seller's selection and stocking are obviously more focused on customization. Take our factory as an example, the seller and we work together to ensure a certain volume of shipments, and we guarantee that the styles and patterns are only for them. From this point of view, the seller must make a difference in the future, because as a public product, the quality of the price war mentioned just now will become worse and worse.
In fact, the lower purchasing price is good and bad for sellers, because they may not work hard in terms of material and quality for sellers who only want to do short-term business for one or two years. The lower purchasing price may be a good thing for them, but this is not a good thing for sellers who want to be a home textile brand.
Hugo net: how will the seller make the explosion in the end of this year?
Bu Haifeng: now in the increasingly competitive market environment, the seller wants to stand out, which is to focus on its own product development. The factory needs to cooperate well with the factory. According to the market data provided by the seller, the factory designs and produces home textile products that are suitable for the seller's main market size, flower pattern, craft and so on. This mode will also be a development trend of sellers.
Hugo net: from what aspects can the textile improve the unit price or seek higher profits?
Bu Haifeng: choose better fabrics, for example, our factory tried to use satin fabric, but this fabric home textile product is feasible in China, and it doesn't sell well on Amazon platform, not only low demand, poor conversion rate, but also unsatisfactory customer price.
The seller can actually raise the passenger unit price by improving packaging or matching sales. For example, our company will sell some 3D flower series bedclothes with tapestries, shower curtains and other similar styles. On the one hand, it enhances the user experience and allows users to feel that we are very professional. On the other hand, compared with the products sold, the price of the single item is relatively favorable and the quality is the same.
Hugo net: what should the seller do in stocking and logistics?
Bu Haifeng: if the seller wants to reduce the cost of purchasing logistics, it needs batch preparation, but this may increase the risk of inventory. Therefore, the small batch and multi batch mode will be more suitable for cross-border e-commerce sellers. For example, if there are hundreds of sets of provincial logistics costs, there may be a situation that transformation is not particularly good. If we choose lots of batches, fewer batches and more capital flow, then we will have more money to develop more styles. Instead of putting money on one or two styles, we should spend the same money on more styles and reduce risks.
Hugo net: what are the precautions of textile sellers when preparing for the peak season?
Bu Haifeng: there are four things to note:
1. Do not involve brand infringement.
2. Choose seasonal type of fabric and fabric.
3. Holiday style must be carefully stocked.
4. Control the time of stock preparation and shipment.
