In The First Half Of The Year, China'S Textile Exports Increased By 27.8%, Driving The Overall Export Growth Of The Industry By 3.2%

According to the data of the General Administration of customs, in the first half of this year, China's textile and clothing exports accumulated US $125.19 billion With a year-on-year increase of 3.16% (in RMB terms, a year-on-year increase of 6.75%), and the overall export of the industry has returned to positive growth. Among them, textile exports from January to June totaled 74.103 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 27.81% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 32.37%); and clothing exports totaled US $51.08 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 19.39% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 16.67%).

The export of masks contributed a lot in the second quarter

Continue to promote the recovery of textile export trade

Since the second quarter, with the surge in demand for epidemic prevention materials in Europe and the United States and other countries, textiles including masks have become an important support for China's export. According to the data of China Customs, from January to may, China's textile and clothing exports amounted to US $100.62 billion, of which the export value of textiles driven by masks was US $60.36 billion, a significant increase of 18.5% year-on-year. From April to June, the year-on-year growth rate of textile exports continued to be above 50%, especially the high value of 79.2% in May. In June, China's textile exports reached US $16.16 billion, up 56.7% year-on-year (64.5% in RMB terms), and the growth rate was 22.5% lower than that of the previous month.

In the first half of the year, the clothing industry accounted for 8.40% of the total export demand, leading to a significant decline in the export demand of clothing industry. Compared with the previous month, China's clothing export volume decreased by 17.70% to US $128.70 billion compared with the previous month (RMB 128.7 billion).
